1 About Scrum

Scrum is a well known and successful method for Software development (see http://www.scrum.org). Some organisations having the appropriate type of projects and the necessary organizational requirements use the scrum method strictly. Others apply scrum in a more open way but without leaving the main principles of the method (see for instance 'Head First, Software Development - A Brain Friendly Guide). This Application supports the development process in a way that is inspired by the scrum principles without enforcing the scrum rules. The users are free to use the typical scrum entities like iterations or user stories or not. Consequently the application has only little workflow logic. The main benefit is that all people involved in a project (customers, project leaders and developers) have a common place to store and exchange information that is necessary for the project success (see chapter 2, Intended use of Scrum document types).

Note: This is the initial version of Scrum. Time and experience will show the advantages oder disadvantages of this open approach. Possibly the application will be enhanced in the future by explicit scrum logic.
