User profile features

This section will allow you to set personal information. You can also set your gender, this will change your default profile photo and affect the wording of items in the activity stream (his/her).

"Display name" can be used to change the way your name is displayed in the activity stream. E.g. if your registered name in the directory is "Zacharias McCracken", you can set your display name to "Zak McCracken".

The organisation widget will display your manager, deputy and assistant if defined. Click on the edit icon in the title bar to define manager, deputy and assistant. The reporting chain widget will be displayed when you have defined a manager.

To add web profiles, click on the edit icon in the "Web Profiles" tab, then select the account type to add.



Enter the username or URL for the account to add.



Note: In future versions of myWebGate, you will be able to link your facebook and twitter accounts, to allow cross-posting from the Activity Stream.

There are three different types of photos.
- Your profile picture, displayed when someone opens your profile.
- Your avatar picture, a small image, displayed in your activities (posts, comments).
- Theme image for your profile. Displayed in the background of the header of your profile.

If you upload a new profile photo, and no avatar is defined yet, your profile photo will be automatically set as avatar too.

To upload a new photo, click the icon. You will be prompted to upload a bitmap file.
Note: You need a recent HTML5 capable web browser to use the photo upload feature. (Internet explorer will not work).



Once your picture is uploaded, you can crop and resize the picture by moving the marquee.



When you are done, save the photo by clicking the button. You can tick the checkbox if you want to inform other users about your new photo in your activity stream.


Profile theme image has been updated and should now be visible in your profile. The size of the background image depends on the width of the browser window.
